The CNRS and the University of Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne seek candidates for a three-year PhD position in Philosophy of Biology and/or Theoretical Biology, in the context of a CNRS-University of Toronto Collaboration Program entitled Steps to a Theory of Biological Agency: Integrating Evolutionary and Organizational Perspectives.

Principal Investigators: Matteo Mossio (IHPST, CNRS) and Denis Walsh (IHPST, University of Toronto)

Location: Paris, with stays in Toronto
Language: English and French
Duration: Three years
Start date: October 1st, 2021
Salary: 2 135 € gross monthly, approximately €1,700 net (before income taxes).
Requirements: Master in Philosophy of Biology or Philosophy of Science, with a strong interest in biology, or a Master in Biological Sciences, with a strong interest in conceptual and theoretical investigation.
